"UV Brings the Heart of U2 to Revolution"
by The Dish March 2006

The fans were at Revolution partying on the streets in festive green attire enjoying a great St. Patrick's Day. The weather was incredible; the fun undeniable how could it get any better? Revolution definitely knows how to throw a party and the main attraction of the night added to the excitement.
UV took the stage in tribute of U2. Close your eyes. Is that really Bono's voice I hear? Indeed, their interpretation of U2 songs was brilliant and left you wanting more. This was a treat for a staunch U2 fan who until today thought there was no match for the original. But I am a believer. - The Dish (see photos from the review here!)

"UV - The U2 Tribute"
Miami New Times March 30, 2006

Why see a tribute band when you can see the real thing? Well, when the real thing is U2, and nosebleed tickets go for about $85 each, a good tribute band goes a long way, which might explain the growing popularity of acts such as UV. An obsessive fan's dream come true, the boys of UV tour the world, pretending to be the arena-rock heroes. And though it may not possess Bono's gift of healing the world's pain and suffering, UV can play the tunes that made U2 the giant of the modern-rock era. Covering everything from U2's debut album, Boy, to 2004's How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, UV makes good on its promise to please cash-conscious fans. "For the people who can't afford a U2 ticket, we try to be as close to the real deal as possible; so when you close your eyes, you'll hear U2, and when you open your eyes, you'll see U2," . Make sure to grab a few pints of Guinness with the extra cash. And who knows? You might not be able to tell the difference. - Jose Davila (link to original article Miami New Times)

"St. Patty's Day Homage to U2"
RAG Magazine April 2006

Local pop stars, UV, spent St. Paddy's on Revolution's main stage, under magnificent skyscrapers. The show was the act's first since their vivid exhibition at Pompano Beach's Italian Festival. "Revolution is an amazing club with responsive listeners who we can interact with, I live off their vibe", explained UV's "Bono". Draped in familiar leather jacket, black t-shirt and jeans, he played the role of the politician behind the trademark sunglasses. Opening with "City of Blinding Lights", Fort Lauderdale witnessed replications ranging from U2's first single, "Out of Control", to their latest radio hit "Vertigo". Couples danced to the melodic "All I Want Is You" and to The Joshua Tree's timeless masterpiece "Where The Streets Have No Name". Popular hits experienced included "Sunday Bloody Sunday", "The Fly" and "Beautful Day". During "Bullet The Blue Sky", the singer shot a beam of light at the audience, as well as at the guitarist in a wooly-cap a la The Edge. The silhouette created resembled the cover to 1988's Rattle & Hum. The evening's highlight came during "Mysterious Ways", when an accomplished belly dancer paraded around the stage, much like U2's memorable ZOO TV video. Sandy, the exotic mistress, was draped in green and gold. "We are trying to impersonate U2 as authentically as possible. There are some trademark moments that people know and we want to make sure we're faithful to the real thing", explained "The Edge". Each performer of UV has tremendous respect for Bono as a human being. The icon simply uses his massive influence to benefit mankind. "We want to do the music justice, but we also want people to think they are watching the four lads from Dublin themselves...if the audience members walk away feeling as thought they just saw and heard the next best thing to the real deal, we've done our job." - (full archive available here RAG Magazine)

Ok...UV you guys were simply amazing at the John Martin St Paddy's day concert! Our friend told us about the show you did there 2 years ago so we decided to make the trek from Ft Laud. Are we ever glad we did, you guys rocked and are a seriously authentic tribute to our favorite band, U2!. We loved the show so much that we followed you guys to your second show that night at the Hard Rock up the freeway. Your Bono managed to sing 50+ U2 songs in one night = WOW!! We had so much fun we saw the sun come up! What a great bunch and meeting you guys made our night, we never thought rock stars would party with us but you guys were so down to earth. We hope to see you again soon! REALLY SOON!!

I'm still shocked. I'm just coming to my house from your gig in Veracruz at Buddha Bar, and I decided to write because I didn't have the oportunity to talk to you there. I've been a U2 fan since 1984; I have been in U2 shows of the last 4 tours (ZooTV, Pop, Elevation and Vertigo); I consider myself a 'Certified U2 fan', and I have three words for you: YOU ARE AMAZING!!! you won the hearts of everyone.

You have the perfect looks, the Armanis, the Africa-Bullseye T-shirt, the sleeve-stripped jacket, the '7' T-shirt ,, the embroidered jeans, etc. What else can we ask for? I wanna thank you guys for a great performance, even my girlfriend cried when you played 'Pride'. I think not even Bono can reach the high notes of 'Bad' now, the way you did it today. Congratulations. You are a great band. I hope to see you soon again. Consider me a fan. - Antonio
